Brenton Benson – D.W. Daniel HS (Central) – Carolina Pressure
Benson was hurt by a injury this past season and came back and made the All-Region team after missing the first 8 games. Benson 6’5 we first saw as freshman on the Grassroots Circuit. Benson will run Carolina Pressure this coming season. Benson will have to make a decision next season either to play football or basketball at the next level.
Zay Chalmers – Newberry HS – Chapin Flight
Chalmers is a Quarterback on the Bulldogs football team. Chalmers missed part of the hoop season with a meniscus tear. Chlamers 6’3 is a vocal leader on the floor and has great body control. Chalmers played just in region play this season and averaged 9 ppg and 4.3 rebounds.
Tristan Freeling – Wando HS (Mount Pleasant) – TMP 17
Freeling is a tough-nosed individual on the floor. Freeling 6’4 plays the game with a lot of passion and grit. Freeling averaged 11.3 ppg this season for Wando HS (15-10). Freeling shot 36% (38-107) from downtown.
Latavian Lawrence – Silver Bluff HS (Beach Island) – Upward Stars Riverfront
Lawrence plays in small Class 2A in Aiken County. Lawrence 6’5 also excels on the football field for the Bulldogs. Lawrence a All-State Selection helped the Bulldogs get to the Upper State Championship Game this season before falling to Andrew Jackson HS. Lawrence averaged 16 ppg this season.
Jaylen Green – Philip Simmons HS – TMP 17 (pictured on front)
Green 6’4 is a run-jump-athlete for the Iron Horses. Green does his best work around the basket while attacking. Green will run with TMP 17 this coming spring on the Grassroots Circuit. Philip Simmons opened in 2017 serving the Daniel Island and Cainhoy Peninsula area of Charleston.
