DePaul Prep didn’t have to play an Elite Eight game due to a double forfeit after a brawl ensued during the Farragut-North Lawndale Sweet Sixteen game. East St. Louis had six players on the court at the end of regulation during its Elite Eight game against reigning runner-up Springfield Southeast.
Nevertheless, they advanced to Peoria for the state finals with favorite Chicago Bogan and Peoria Manual, which will claim its state-best 16th trophy.

Arthur Goodwin is 200-70 in his 10th season at Bogan. The Bengals are making their first trip to the state finals, having become one of the Chicago Public League powers. Rashaun Agee is one of the top uncommitted players around the state, and now he’ll have an opportunity to shine on the Carver Arena floor.

1 Jashawn Anderson (2020, G, 5-11) – 6.8 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 4.6 apg, shooting 52.4/42.1/63.4

Mark Chambers is 37-11 in his second season as Flyers coach, though he took over in the middle of the 2017-18 season. It’s the Flyers first appearance since Darius Miles led them here in 2000. The program has never played for the state championship, finishing third in 1927, 1975 and 2000.
Manual (19-11)

Willie Coleman is 28-30 in his second season coaching his alma mater. Playing a challenging schedule, Manual got hot to win seven straight before dropping the final three to Class 4A schools (Danville, Bloomington and Normal Community). Pee Wee Brown will have to play big for the Rams to win. This team shares the ball very well.
Predictions
DePaul Prep vs. Bogan
The Bengals have the size advantage with Rashaun Agee and Kyndal Davis. DePaul Prep will have to find a way to score around the rim and fight through contact, potentially getting Bogan in foul trouble.
Prediction: Bogan 67, DePaul Prep 54
East St. Louis vs. Manual
This is an opportunity for St. Louis recruit Terrance Hargrove Jr. to dominate. He’ll have a size advantage all game and can play anywhere on the floor. Manual, however, will have some of the best guard play in the tournament, certainly the most unselfish guard play.
Prediction: East St. Louis 74, Manual 68
