Wing/Forwards:
• Christian Gillilan (6’7” / F 2019 / Hilliard Davidson): Having watched the senior a few times during the HS season, he showcased much of the same style play. Gillian does a really good job of running the floor as well as spacing the mid-range. A catch-and-shoot threat, Gillian is a player you don’t want to give space. Riding near the perimeter, the senior was a big help in creating lanes for slashing guards. An easier rebounding day then usual, Gillian possessed a lot of uncontested rebounds at 6-foot-7.
• Kaveon Ross (6’5” / WF 2020 / Walnut Ridge): Ross is a multi sport athlete who excels on the hardwood. The junior runs the floor well and showed that. A lob threat as he finishes strong at the rim, Ross had a real nice day Sunday. For a bigger frame the 6-foot-5 wing handles the ball well, and is developing his touch. Showed solid stride in running the floor. Ross should be a D2 player down the road for sure.
• VonCameron Davis (6’5” / F 2020 / Walnut Ridge): Davis did what he basically did in the high school season, dominate. The 6’5” forward showcased his athleticism and ability to play above the rim. Running the floor as a trailer often, coming in and cleaning things up. Davis handled the ball well, even showing some creation. The wing-forward is a legit D1 prospect, and will get even better as his shot develops.
• Kegan Hienton (6’5” / WF 2020 / Big Walnut): Hienton was impressive on the court Sunday, showing a variety of scoring ways. The junior filled lanes correctly where he was found often for a catch-and-shoot three. A nice release point that isn’t easily contested, Kegan gets it off with ease. Some slashing ability off ball, the Big Walnut star was open at the rim often. With a longer frame, Hienton can affect the ball handlers vision as well as play the lane well. A good showing for the junior.
• Benjamin James (6’5” / F 2019 / Independence): Ben James is dynamic inside, but showcased some shooting ability. James was really good in the City League setting, and did work at the Hidden Gems Showcase as well. Moving well without the ball, having the ability to get open looks. Was really surprised with the seniors outside shooting ability. A real nice day for the James.
