Hard Work Region Preview: Gallo Sports Center
We may be on the tail end of high school basketball season but it’s not too early to look ahead to what’s coming up on the AAU circuit. Over the next few months we will be taking a look at the teams that will be participating in the Prep Hoops Circuit Hard Work Region and here’s a look at Wisconsin based Gallo Sports Center.
Gallo Sports Center will compete in the 16U and 17U age divisions of the Hard Work Region and will be at Hard Work Live, Battle at the Lakes, Summer Challenge and the Hard Work Region Finals.
I recently caught up with Sports Center Director Tom Sollman to learn more about the program and what to expect from his team this season:
Why did you start your program? How long have you been around?
I wanted to provide a safe and positive place for youth that wanted to play AAU basketball in the local area. Our program has its own facility to practice and to do training. We have been around since 2015.
What is the goal of your program for 2019?
To have a successful program that each player grows as a person/individual and as a player.
What is your program’s mission each year?
To provide youth a safe and clean environment to enhance their life skills on and off the court. We do this by building a culture around the student athlete. We utilize basketball as the vehicle to support and build student athletes into young adults by teaching sportsmanship, respect for others, responsibility, and character, with the goal for them to be a contributing member of their communities.
Do you know of any players that will be back in your program this year? Who should we have our eye on?
Cayleb Mosley, Elijah Sabala, Haden Sollman.
Why did you choose the Prep Hoops Circuit?
After doing some research, I believe that Prep Hoops is the best circuit for our program to be a part of. Prep Hoops is the best circuit around in my opinion.
