Hard Work Region Preview: Chicago Demons
The spring is almost here! We have been previewing the teams participating in the PrepHoops Circuit Hard Work Region over the last few months.
Below is our chat with Vince Carter of the Chicago Demons previewing this upcoming season!
Why did you start your program? How long have you been around?
The Chicago Demons Basketball Program began in the Fall of 1980. I started it because I loved sports and saw a need in the Cabrini-Green area for organized sports. There was a lot of untapped talent in the area and they just needed a platform to be seen. We have a college scholarship program to go along with our sports programs.
What is the goal of your program for 2019?
The goal is to be competitive, bring home as many championships as possible, and have fun traveling and seeing the sites of the cities to which we travel.
What is your program’s mission each year?
Our mission is to show that our student-athletes can take their academic and athletic acumens and use those skills to become self-sufficient adults. Additonally, we want to keep our youth engaged in positive activities throughout the year.
Why did you choose the Prep Hoops Circuit?
I really enjoy the way you guys ran the Prep Hoops tournaments we have attended in the past. I am a fan of your reports and the good work that you do. We are looking forward to the circuit.
