Grind Region Preview: P.L.U.T.O. Prospects
As we near the end of the high school basketball season it’s time to look ahead to what’s coming up on the AAU circuit. Over the next few months we will be taking a look at the teams that will be participating in the PrepHoops Circuit Grind Region and here’s a look at P.L.U.T.O. Prospects.
P.L.U.T.O. Prospects will have a team in the 17U division of the Grind Region. They will be participating in the #GrindSzn Kickoff, Spring Kickoff, and Grind Region Finals.
Here’s a transcript of a conversation we had with coach Michael Lyons.
Why did you start your program? How long have you been around?
Our program is entering our second year of play. PLUTO was started in 2011 and began as a player development program. The goal of starting club teams was to develop develop athletes in a team environment and get them the maximum amount of exposure to explore college opportunities.
What is the goal of your program for 2019?
The goal for our program in 2019 is to win every tournament that we compete in.
What is your program’s mission each year?
Our program’s mission each year is to compete at a high level and to get our athletes developed and recruited at the collegiate level.
Do you know of any players that will be back in your program this year? Who should we have our eye on?
14u: TJ Moorer; skilled PG in all areas, gritty defender
15u: Sam Howery; One of the top PGs in the stated, fierce competitor, amazing ball handler and finisher.
Jordan Mckay: Tough and strong forward, great finisher around the rim
16u: AJ Guiao; Great PG, floor general
Eddie Speller: Tough forward, elite athleticism
17u: Lucas Moerman; Athletic 6’10 big that can step out and hit mid-range and 3’s
Micah Lamberth; Crafty 6’3 PG, lefty, smooth shooter
