KORDELL LEWIS | 5’10 PG | RM ’21
One thing that continues to standout about Kordell Lewis is his toughness. The competitive floor general defended the ball tenaciously, and rebounded fearlessly. Lewis applied consistent pressure on WJ’s defense with his paint getting ability and ultimately hit the free throw that put the game out of reach.
ABDEL NASSER | 6’6 C | WJ ’19
Abdel Nasser stood out as a space eater who is crafty with the ball in his hands. The energetic big man used his long arms to create deflections and was active on the boards. Nasser did commit a couple of turnovers, one for improper footwork and a careless live ball turnover because he tried to dribble into a crowd. He will definitely need to clean that up and learn to take what the defense gives him.
DJORDJE ORCEV | 6’5 SF | RM ’19
Djordje Orcev showcased his entire offensive package in this game, scoring 13 first half points. The athletic 6-foot-5 wing demonstrated a versatile skill set and a tremendously high work rate. Orcev also hit the boards well. His noteworthy presence on the glass was a big reason why RM was able to hold WJ to just one shot on most defensive possessions, and come up with several second chance points on the offensive end.
HANK ROLL | 6’3 F/C | WJ ’19
Unsigned senior Hank Roll primarily impacted this game with his defense, but also exhibited solid fundamentals on the offensive side of the ball. Roll rebounded very well both in and out of his area. He was an active and alert help defender. Roll also did a nice job making himself available for dump offs where he was able to catch and finish in traffic.
PHILIP STUBIN | 6’0 PG | WJ ’21
Philip Stubin was the biggest breakout performer in this game, finishing with a game-high 20 points while showing that he knows how to get open off the ball or create his own shot with it. The sharpshooting sophomore started the game by cashing in on a four-point play. He then attacked a close out, did a jump stop, and hit a floater in traffic. Defensively, Stubin demonstrated good feel and positioning. He was in proper position to record a handful of deflections and steals. One thing he does need to tighten up a little bit is his ball handling, but his playmaking ability and court vision off the bounce was still impressive.
