Here’s a quick recap:
DeLaSalle 76, Bemidji 45
This one was over in a hurry as the Islanders jumped all over the Lumberjacks, taking a 31-13 lead in the first 10 minutes and cruising to a 76-45 win that could’ve been more lopsided. The Islanders defense was disruptive throughout the game, turning Bemidji over 19 times while limiting them to just 18 made field goals. Nine Islanders scored. Jamison Battle finished with what felt like an effortless 21 points while Tyrell Terry added 15.
Princeton 68, Mahtomedi 63
A back-and-forth affair most of the game, Princeton’s firepower proved to be too much for the Zephyrs which was mostly J’Vonne Hadley and friends. Adam Willias had a big second half, finishing with 17 points including the game-clinching free throws. John Stimmler was a hoss inside with a double-double and Reilly O’Neill and James Flicek contributed to the scoring cause as well. Hadley finished with 32 in defeat but the Zephyrs never led in the second half.
Waseca 82, Holy Angels 62
It took the Bluejays a little while but they eventually pulled away from the Stars with a strong second half. The Willingham brothers led the way, combining for 39 points, 23 rebounds and 11 assists. Andrew Morgan added 21 points and nine rebounds and the Waseca defense was terrific holding the Stars to just 35 percent shooting. Max Gerstner was one of the few players for Holy Angels to have a good shooting day, knocking down four triples on his way to scoring 15 points.
Austin 68, Monticello 52
The Packers used their havocy defense to wreak all sorts of havoc on the Magic, forcing 27 turnovers and holding Monticello to just 6 for 23 from 3-point range. Medi Obang led the way with 16 points and Gavin Owens provided a spark with 12 points and nine guys scored at least four points.
