Class 4A State Tournament Central
Below is a roundup from the 2019 OSSAA 6A State Tournaments played at various locations in Tulsa on March 7-9, 2019. This article will be updated at the conclusion of each game.
Quarterfinals: John Marshall 69 | Central 51
In the opening game of the 4A state tournament, John Marshal and Central from Tulsa faced off in a game that was expected to be well-matched. That was the case in the first quarter but Central wasn’t ready for John Marshall’s defense.
John Marshall advanced to the 4A semifinals with a 69-51 win over Central.
John Marshall’s Patrick Garrett scored 19 points and pulled down 6 rebounds along with 12 points from Corey Coleman and 12 from DJ Alexander.
Next: John Marshall will play Heritage Hall at 6:00 P. M. on Friday.
Holland Hall 59 | Anadarko 56
Anadarko has been a gritty team all season but Holland Hall came to the state tournament slightly more prepared than the Warriors were as they moved onto the state semifinals with a 59-56 victory.
It was a situation where Holland Hall had a little more star power with Brock Davis and his 20 points and 7 rebounds.
Holland Hall will play the winner of Kingfisher at 7:30 on Friday.
Heritage Hall 74 | Broken Bow 53
Broken Bow entered their quarterfinal matchup against Broken Bow with a ton of energy and motivation. Unfortunately for them, Heritage Hall led by Jack Spanier and Trey Alexander was too much for Broken Bow.
Alexander finished with 28 points and 17 rebounds while Jack Spanier added 13 points and 5 assists.
The Chargers will face John Marshall in the state semifinals at 6:00 P.M. on Friday.
Kingfisher 57 | Elgin 38
Both Kingfisher and Elgin played an extremely slow-paced style of basketball on Thursday night but the better team found a way to pick up the offense to advance to the state semifinals. Kingfisher defeated Elgin 57-38 behind 19 points from senior Trey Green.
Kingfisher will face an intriguing matchup at 7:30 P. M. on Friday where they’ll face Holland Hall.
