Continue ReadingThe start of grassroots basketball season is right around the corner so it’s time to to look ahead to what’s coming up on the AAU circuit. We have reached out to all of the top AAU programs in the state to get a preview and today we look at the Rose City Rebels.
The Rose City Rebels will once again be playing on the prestigious Nike EYBL Circuit but won’t be fielding a 17U squad this time around. Here’s a transcript of a conversation we had with program director Kendrick Williams.
Why did you start your program? How long have you been around?
This is Rose City Rebels 2nd year in existence. We started Rose City Rebels to have an elite program from top to bottom. We have teams as young as 9u up to 16u this year.
What is the goal of your program for 2019?
Our goal for our HS Teams is to make the Nike Peach Jam for the two levels.
Regarding middle school and down is to continue to develop and be able to compete against top ranked competition throughout the country.
What is your program’s mission every year?
Each year we try to enhance student athletes to work hard on the court and in the classroom. Our goal is for our youth is to become a successful contributor to their community.
Do you know of any players that will be back in your program this year? Who should we have our eye on?
Ben Gregg, Kayden Perry, and Kamron Robinson are the studs in the 16u Team.
Marquis Cook, Lamar Washington, Mason Vanbeenen, Max Von Arx, and Luke Johnson are the studs for 15U
What are the main tournaments you will be playing in this year?
We wil be playing in the Nike EYBL Circuit which consists of stops in Atlanta, Indianapolis, Dallas, and Augusta GA.
