Rose City Basketball will be running teams from 16U to an unsigned seniors 18U squad. Here’s a transcript of a conversation we had with program director Aaron Bronikowski.
Why did you start your program? How long have you been around?
Hany (Daoud) and I started our program to fill what we saw as a void in player development. We were the first and only USA Basketball sanctioned club in the state and really wanted to provide players of all skill levels a platform to play competitive basketball and to improve their skills. This is our program’s fourth year.
What is the goal of your program for 2019?
Our goal for 2019 is to continue to build a program built on skill development with quality coaching. We’re hoping to get some of our u18 guys one last look as they look to play in the future and begin to get exposure for our other teams/kids in the program. We’ll have a very competitive u16 team and are hopeful that will be the team in our club competing at a high level each and every tournament.
What is your program’s mission every year?
To build skills on the court and to build better people off the court.
Do you know of any players that will be back in your program this year? Who should we have our eye on?
u18: Juwon Esuk, Kobe Newton, Cobi Wilson, Tristan Rainbolt
u16: Jha-Barrie Portis, Charles Wilmott, Tanner Volk, Logan Lafey, Brett Moss, Ams Juwara, Tate Reese
What are the main tournaments you will be playing in this year?
April 13th & 14th: Beaverton Hoop YMCA
April 26th – 28th: Bellevue, WA
May 18th & 19th: Hoopsource
May 25th – 27th: Salem, OR
July 10th – 14th: Anaheim, CA (West Coast Elite)
July 24th – 28th: Las Vegas, NV (Bigfoot)
