Athletes need to be athletic, and these players were the most athletic, explosive basketball players at the 2019 OSSAA 2A State Tournament in Oklahoma City last weekend:
Aaron Taylor 2019 Rock Creek forward
Rock Creek senior standout Aaron Taylor made a name for himself over the weekend. Despite a nail-biting, overtime loss in the semifinals, Taylor went out a champion in leading the Mustangs to this spot in the first place. The 6-foot-6 forward was most impressive in scoring out of the post, but also could flare to the corner and create a shot out of the dribble. He is a very athletic individual who can benefit a program at the next level.
Justin Seay 2019 Rejoice Christian wing
For the 2019 2A State Champions, the inside-out presence of senior Justin Seay helped to set Rejoice Christian over the top. He was named the Daily Oklahoman‘s all-tournament MVP earlier this week, a well-deserved award for the senior. The athletic prowess of the lengthy swingman made a difference as the Eagles burned teams on the defensive side of the ball all weekend thanks to his length. Seay is fast, strong and sizable. He is a tough finisher at the rim as well, and is no stranger to scoring the ball as he averaged 16 points a game over the weekend.
Sando Hill 2019 Vanoss wing
Despite losing in the first round of the State Tournament, Sando Hill made quite the impression. Hill is explosive because of his size and strength and his scoring abilities. Hill can shoot from beyond the arc, releasing high above opposing defenders, but can also bring energy to the floor with his physicality near the rim.
Jaden Lietzke 2020 Rejoice Christian forward
Six-foot-6-inch Jaden Lietzke rebounds the ball exceptionally well thanks to his size and was a versatile inside force for Rejoice Christian in its quest to win the 2019 State Championship. Lietzke used his athleticism to dominate the paint by getting put-backs to score the basketball and allowing second chances. He also played fantastic defense in the post and used his long arms to disrupt opposing teams’ offensive poetry. Aside from everything else, he is a dunk machine.
Dayken Rackley 2019 Minco forward
Dayken Rackley is an exceptionally versatile forward who has the size, speed, agility, and moves to make plays. Rackley can catch at the wing and take the ball to the hole. Averaging 12 points a contest over the weekend. Rackley led Minco to a semifinal finish with his length and ability to stop opposing scorers and turn defense to offense.
