This being the first 2022 class update, we have had kids come from unranked to highly ranked and others have made moderate movements up the rankings. Here are 2022’s top ranked post players as of the first class rankings update:
- James Jewell, Eastern – We’ve written plenty about the enormous potential James possesses at this point in his development. He has the length, athleticism and competitive drive to be a big time player a year or two from now. Eastern’s offensive system doesn’t really do much for post players but they would be wise to play through the post more in the next couple of seasons.
- Justin Becker, Robertson County – Coming off possibly the best statistical season of any freshman, Becker is an interesting case to watch this spring and summer as he plays high level AAU for the first time. After averaging 19 points and 7 rebounds this season, Justin will need to show that he can move well enough to guard on the perimeter. In the case that he doesn’t grow any, he’ll be either a wing or the dreaded “tweener” label with college coaches in the future.
- Tim Hall, Dunbar – A big mover in this update, Hall cracked the top ten overall after having a huge last month or so of the season. Ending the season averaging 6 points and 5 rebounds, Hall has a lot of upside and is a growth spurt away from being a really good college prospect a year from now.
- Olajuwon White, Christian County – After an inconsistent Freshman season, White holds steady in the rankings while we wait to see how his game develops and if he grows any. Right now, “Big O” is a bruiser in the low post that will need to get a couple of inches taller and start to expand his game to stay this high in the rankings as the class keeps improving and more prospects make their mark.
- Jackson Twombly, Frankfort – After a solid freshman campaign as a role player for Frankfort, Jackson will get his chance to have a much bigger role next season. After being one of the state leaders in field goal percentage this year at 71%, Twombly had a huge game in the season finale for the Panthers. In order for him to move up in the rankings, he needs to find a Vertimax and start getting more athletic before his Sophomore year tips off.
