This being the first 2022 class update, we have had kids come from unranked to highly ranked and others have made moderate movements up the rankings. Here are 2022’s top ranked forwards as of the first class rankings update:
- Kendric Adams, Trigg County – Adams is a blue collar player who is working hard to improve his wing skills as his game develops. Kendric is a great rebounder for his size and has a tremendous motor. The next step in his development is to stretch his range to shooting comfortably from three point range.
- Colby Fugate, Paintsville – Fugate is a slasher who is more than capable of getting to the rim against his defender. A long athlete, Colby is capable of playing above the rim but he will need to continue tightening up his ball handling and improving as a three point shooter as his game develops. If he can do that, he can make a push towards the top 2-3 in his class.
- Bryce Riley, Nelson County – Another blue collar type of player, Riley is a two sport star for Nelson County. He led the Cardinals in scoring and was third in rebounding in his freshman season. His shooting percentages will need to improve and he will only see more defense as his career moves along as the go-to scorer for Nelson County.
- Cade Stinnett, Greenwood – Continuing our theme of kids who maximize their potential, Stinnett worked his way into the starting lineup at Greenwood by midseason and finished the year as the 4th leading scorer and second leading rebounder for the Gators. Cade will need to work to raise his ceiling as a prospect by becoming a better shooter. He only shot 6-31 from 3 for the season.
- JaWaun Northington, DuPont Manual – Northington’s future may be on the football field but he is a solid basketball player with a competitive mean streak. JuWuan bullies his opponents to the rim and competes on the glass as a good rebounder for the Crimson. The biggest concern with Northington right now is the pitiful 37% he shot from the free throw line in his freshman year.
Other Names to Know:

- Casey Steadmon, Fern Creek
- Gage Mabry, Spencer County
- Tyson Barrett, Frederick Douglass
