2021 Guards to Watch:
2021 6’4 CG Jordan McCray, Team Bradley (Lakes HS) – A wiry strong athlete with good foot speed and anticipation skills on defense. Has the potential to be an absolute lock down defender on the perimeter and really competes at a high level. Jordan is capable of playing the 1 or 2 and could be recruited as a tall point guard due to his willingness to distribute the ball. Jordan and his twin brother (mentioned below) will play with Team Avery Bradley’s 17u team. *Feature image
2021 6’4 SG Brandon McCray, Team Bradley (Lakes HS) – Brandon is the shooter of the family and has a natural left-handed stroke. He is crafty with the ball in his hands and slithers through the defense to get his shot off. He is a plus athlete and can finish with the slam in transition. As mentioned, Brandon will suit up for Team Bradley once again.
2021 6’1 PG Cobi Campbell, WA Supreme (Puyallup HS) – A super crafty left-handed point guard with a very good understanding of the game. Cobi understands the balance of looking for his own shot and distributing, which is not always common for young point guards. A dead-eye shooter that can stretch the defense with range from deep. Cobi will suit up for Washington Supreme’s 16u team and handle point guard responsibilities.
2021 6’1 PG Leo DeBruhl, Seattle Rotary (Seattle Academy) – Leo was on our pre-season sleepers list, but that has now changed! After a really strong showing this winter, Leo will be playing up on Rotary’s 17u EYBL team, handling point guard responsibilities alongside Nolan Hickman. Leo is a super confident play maker that does a good job of getting his teammates involved.
2021 6’0 G Mason Laddeck, WA Supreme (Cashmere HS) – Mason had a stellar season for Cashmere hitting long bomb 3’s, driving and finishing with scoop shots and throwing no look passes. Behind the flash is a solid skill set that Laddeck possesses. He has a quick release on his jumper that will suit him well at the next level. A key area of improvement will be continuing to work on his strength for the collegiate level. He will run with Washington Supreme’s 16u team this club season.
2021 6’2 G Haden Hicks, Seattle Stars (Prosser HS) – One of the best guards in the greater Yakima area, regardless of class. Haden is a proven scorer at the high school level, averaging 23 points per game in his sophomore season. He has sneaky athleticism and can turn defense to offense getting into passing lanes. He will run with the Seattle Stars 16u squad.
2021 6’0 PG Dezjay Perkins, Seattle Rotary (O’Dea HS) – Dezjay has been one of the better guards in Washington for some time now. He is an aggressive and strong left-handed guard that likes to attack the paint and make plays. He did a good job of distributing this winter and he helped lead his team to a 3A state championship as a starting sophomore point guard. Dezjay will play with Seattle Rotary’s 16u team this club season.
