2021 Bigs to Watch:
2021 6’6 PF Lemuel Armstrong, Seattle Rotary 16u (Rainier Beach HS) – “LJ” is a plus athlete with good length. He provides shot blocking and finishing ability around the basket. He has also been working hard to improve his mid range and perimeter game to diversify his skill set. He runs the floor very well, which is an added bonus. He will star on Seattle Rotary’s 16u EYBL team.
2021 6’9 PF Derek Kramer, Team LaVine 16u (Interlake HS) – An absolute sleeper and hidden gem on the eastside of Seattle! Derek is a sneaky athlete who is still growing into his body. He has a nice in between game at this stage of his career and he is only scratching the surface. Derek will very likely be moving up in the rankings with a strong spring and summer on the adidas Gauntlet. *Featured image
2021 6’5 PF Charlie Dietiker, Team LaVine 16u (Issaquah HS) – A strong and powerful athlete with a solid motor. Charlie is a hard-working forward that competes on every possession and can throw down a powerful dunk at any given moment. Charlie will be a solid pickup for a college program in a couple of years.
2021 6’9 C Gavin Gilstrap, Eastern Washington Elite (Central Valley HS) – Gavin is a 6’9, 220 pound center with solid footwork. He clogs space on defense and he can finish inside with some skill. Continued work on his mobility and explosiveness will take his game to another level. Gavin will be on Eastern WA Elite’s 16u team.
2021 6’10 C Liam Hanenburg (Lynden HS) – Liam is a mostly unknown prospect throughout Washington, but his size and potential is hard to deny. At this stage of his career, he can provide rim protection, but he still needs some more playing experience developing other parts of his game. Lynden had 9 seniors on their talented roster, so a strong club season should set him up for an improved high school season next winter. A player to keep an eye on moving forward.
2021 7’0 C Malachi Bullington, 509 Elite 16u (Lakeland HS, Idaho) – One of the few 7 footers in the northwest does not attend high school in Washington, but he plays with Washington based 509 Elite. He will play on their 16u squad this spring and summer. He provides instant rim protection with his 7’6 wing span and he is working hard to develop his offensive game. As with most long-limbed players, his development will be a step by step process.
