Over 15 players are somewhere between 6’6-7’0. A handful of posts that are a legitimate 6’9 and above will have college coaches of all levels monitoring this class very closely!
2021 Bigs to watch:
2021 6’9 PF Paolo Banchero, Seattle Rotary (O’Dea HS) – The 5-star recruit was every bit the part this winter and led O’Dea to a 3A state title and took home MVP honors in the process. He can really be dominant in spurts and provides a real inside-out type of game. His body is maturing and his work at Ford Sports has really paid off in terms of his improved foot speed. Paolo will be hearing from schools in just about every conference after this travel season. It is worth noting that both of his parents were student-athletes at UW.
2021 6’9 PF/C Kaden Perry, Rose City Rebels (Battle Ground HS) – Kaden was a hidden gem before the high school season, but he had some outright dominant performances during the winter. He battled injury, but should come into the spring, ready to take his game to the next level in the Nike EYBL. PAC-12 schools have an eye on Kaden due to his motor, athleticism and natural ability.
2021 6’9 PF Jackson Grant, WA Supreme (Olympia HS) – A 6’9 stretch-forward with above average athleticism is not so easy to find in the state of Washington. Jackson has been mostly under the radar, but he had a very good high school season and he will be on the big stage playing in the Under Armour Association.
2021 6’9 C David Pickles, Team LaVine (Mercer Island HS) – David is a strong-bodied post player with a nice shooting touch for his size. He provides a big target in the paint and he clogs the paint defensively. David will be playing the post for Team LaVine on the adidas Gauntlet and with continued progress, he will be a solid college prospect. *Featured Image
2021 6’5 PF Jaylahn Tuimoloau, Seattle Rotary (Eastside Catholic HS) – Big J.T. is a 5-star football prospect, but his basketball ability is still worth mentioning. He has elite mobility and footwork and is probably the strongest post player in his class. With college offers from top football programs all over the country, JT will have his eyes on playing on Saturdays in a couple years, but he is still one of the best basketball players in Washington in the meantime.
