The Top 5:
- Justin Powell, North Oldham – With his return to Kentucky after a 4 game stint at Montverde in Florida, Justin reclaims the top spot in the rankings. Powell sat out the remainder of the season after moving back and with him playing out of state for AAU, most Kentuckians won’t see him until December. Nevertheless, Powell is a top 75-100 recruit with several high major offers. It will be interesting to see how Justin does without David Johnson in the backcourt with him.
- Jackson Sivills, McCracken County – In his first season as the go-to guy at McCracken County, Jackson thrived. As a 6’6 wing, Jackson shot the ball well and even played with the ball in his hand a significant amount. He has a big stack of offers already and could get more as his AAU season goes along.
- Dayvion McKnight, Collins – The best rebounding point guard in Kentucky since Rajon Rondo, Dayvion averaged a double-double on the year and helped to carry Collins to a top ten ranking for the bulk of the season. Heading into his Senior year, Dayvion holds multiple D1 offers and is a front-runner for 2020 Mr. Basketball.
- Kenny White, Madisonville-North Hopkins – After 2 big games at Rupp Arena, some are calling Kenny the best Junior in the state. He definitely has the size and skill set to be the best in the class. White just needs to play every game with the effort he showed at the Sweet Sixteen. If he can do that, he could be a nationally ranked player and tops in Kentucky.
- Marques Warrick, Henry Clay – Ques could make a claim to have had the best offensive season of player in Lexington. 21 points per game with shooting splits of 52/43/78 and adding 4 rebounds per game is nothing to sneeze at. Warrick is going to have the chance to impress college coaches this summer and should rack up multiple D1 offers.
The Next 5:
- Marcellus Vail, Collins – Big time scorer already holds multiple offers across D1/D2/NAIA levels.
- Ksuan Casey, Madisonville-North Hopkins – Big man in the middle holds an offer from Evansville and is the premier center in the state in 2020.
- Luke Morrison, South Oldham – Lights out shooter had a remarkable Junior year with 25 PPG on 59/55/82 shooting splits.
- Matt Cromer, South Laurel – One of the state’s best passers, Cromer averaged 19 points and 5 rebounds per game.
- JJ Traynor, Bardstown – Mr. Potential finally showed some big time production in the district tournament. Could be a high major D1 player.
