The Eagles finished 25-4 (best record in school history) before losing to St. Petersburg Lakewood in the Class 6A state semifinal. Adams was named the Florida Dairy Farmer’s Class 6A Boys Basketball Player of The Year.
“The year was really good with our team and the chemistry we had was so high because we all knew each other since 5th and 6th grade so us all going to the same school is nice,” Adams told Prep Hoops. “Also, seeing how the whole team will be back next year makes me happy even though it would’ve been cool to get one this year, we will be back next for sure.
…”It was very nice to go to states showing how much work we put in all season to get there. For me going there made me more determined to win and to do as good as I did with the limitations definitely brung more recognition to me and the school.”
The 6’6″, 190-pounder currently has offers from UNF, FAU, Stetson, FGCU, UMass and FIU. Adams also is drawing interest from Virginia, FSU, UF, UCF, Iowa St., Maryland and some other schools and I look to get those offers this summer for sure.
This summer, Adams will suit up once again for Team Parsons.
“I played with them last summer as well and they helped me with exposure and also thinking of basketball for more than just a game,” he said.
Adams gained 15 lbs this season, going from 175 to 190 lbs. He pointed to his biggest strengths as this.
“In my game I can do everything on the court that any school needs. I can rebound, shoot, handle the ball, guard multiple positions, I’m a playmaker and a really big thing that separates me is my IQ for the game I really believe I am a very smart basketball player and to go along with the fact that I can do anything on the court it separates me from the rest.”
In the state semifinal, Adams led his side with 26 points, shooting 9-of-18 from the field, 8-of-9 from the free throw line while grabbing five rebounds.
This is a fluid wing, who is able to defend anywhere on the floor and his speed and jumping ability can really hurt defenses. His attacking and mid-range jumper are polished. The one area that Adams could polish further is his 3-point shooting and that would make even more coveted by college programs. With six offers currently, I fully expect Adams to get plenty more this summer.
