Hometown hero, James Wiseman of Memphis East (TN), looked extremely impressive this morning in front of the multiple NBA scouts that were in attendance. Wiseman’s body is in great shape and it actually looks like he has slimmed down since around this time last year. James was on another level this morning and his motor was at an all time high. He was able to show scouts and the national media that he is able to score besides inside the paint by knocking down a few mid range and perimeter jumpers.
Louisville bound small forward Samuell Williamson of Rockwall (TX) had a much better day then he did during yesterday’s practice. The 6-foot-7 forward was on fire this morning with his jump shots and seemed to be unstoppable. For those of you who do not know, Williamson has drawn comparisons to Jayson Tatum and he certainly looks like the next Tatum rising. He holds great size and length and is able to create his own shot off the dribble. With his size, Williamson was able to utilize his strength to back down the small defenders and to get to his spots on the floor. Chris Mack and that Louisville staff will be receiving a very special talent.
Arizona native Nico Mannion of Pinnacle (AZ) also impressed this morning and actually throughout the week. He has a great blend of a point guard and scoring guard in his DNA and it definitely showed this morning. The 6-foot-3 point guard was also active defensively on defense during the drills and controlled scrimmages and will fit that Arizona culutre perfectly. Mannion will be able to run a team and system next year and beyond years as his basketball career goes along.
Atlanta’s own Anthony “Ant-Man” Edwards of Holy Spirit Prep (GA) had a solid outing this week as well. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard was one of the main attractions the NBA scouts were checking in to see this week. Besides his effortless scoring attributes, Edwards showed today he can also be a playmaker and facilitator in the halfcourt offense. We all know he is a prolific and dynamic scorer when he posses the rock, but today he put a little of his full James Harden comparison on display by finding his open teammates during the drills and controlled scrimmages.
