Wisconsin Player of the Week Nominations
Who deserves to be this week’s player of the week?
Jaeden Zackery
Jaeden Zackery’s stock continues to rise. The Westosha Central guard had a week full of milestones. Not only did he lead his team to a conference championship, but Zackery also became the all-time leading scorer at Westosha Central. In three games this week, Zackery scored a combined 64 points and shot over 50 percent in each game. Zackery has yet to announce his college decision, but regardless of what school he decides to go to, he is on track to have a spectacular college career.
Tre White
Tre White has flourished with his new team. Entering this week, White already had one impressive performance with Milwaukee Washington under his belt. In his three games this week, White made it known that his 21 point performance that came against Milwaukee Bay View was no fluke. White dropped 62 total points in his second week with his new squad. The addition of Tre White has boosted Washington to the same tier as the state’s elite teams.
Will Mahoney
Despite facing a substantial deficit for most of Monday night’s game, Will Mahoney continued to play. Kimberly eventually was able to pull off the 72-61 victory, but this was not because of Mahoney’s poor play. Mahoney kept the game close, scoring 27 points. After Monday’s disappointing loss, Mahoney came back on Thursday with a diligent 22 point performance in a win over Oshkosh North.
Alex Antetokounmpo
It is no secret that basketball talent is abundant in the Antetokounmpo family gene pool. While Alex may still be known as Giannas’ younger brother, he is slowly making a name for himself. Alex had one of the better performances of his career this week. Antetokounmpo surpassed the 30 point mark for just the third time this year. He tallied 32 points in a 77-68 win.
