Wisconsin Player of the Week Nominations
Who deserves to be the Wisconsin high school basketball player of the week?
Max Klesmit
Max Klesmit has now broken Neenah’s single-game scoring record not once, but twice. Last week, Klesmit dropped 41 points in a loss to Kaukauna, breaking the record for the first time. This week, Klesmit torched the city of Appleton. The junior guard dropped 33 points on Appleton West on Monday and broke his own single-game scoring record against Appleton East on Friday, combining for a total of 78 points throughout just two games. After scoring over 30 points in four out of his last five games, Klemsit’s stock has skyrocketed.
Marcus Domask
Speaking of stock risers, Marcus Domask’s price has gone through the roof. Domask is coming off a week in which he scored a total of 55 points. On Saturday, Domask scored 33 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in an 85-73 Waupan win. After another solid week of play, Domask continues to be a serious candidate for Mr. Basketball in Wisconsin.
Larry Canady
This week, Larry Canady led his team to wins over Kenosha Bradford and Racine Case. Canady made significant contributions in both victories. The senior guard tallied 22 points on Tuesday’s win and racked up a season-high 34 points in Friday’s contest against Racine Case. Canady was able to put up big numbers and not compromise efficiency. In both games, Canady shot over 60 percent from the field.
Jaeden Zackery
Prep Hoops Wisconsin was in the building to see Jaeden Zackery lead Westosha Central to a big-time win over Waukesha West. Zackery exploded for a season-best 34 points in the win. He also added seven rebounds and four assists. Zackery also dropped 15 points in a victory on Thursday
Zion Turner
In his only game of the week, Zion Turner went for 31 points in an 82-59 win over Wisconsin Rapids. Turner’s 31 point performance marks the second time that he has scored over 30 points this year.
