Watch out for the Spring Hill Badgers in 4A.
Spring Hill is a team that I didn’t have on my radar prior to the season. But after a 34-3 regular season they have definitely caught my eye. Spring Hill has good size in their starting backcourt with point guard Vencent Rockwall and St. Mary’s commit shooting guard Tyler Caron. The two form one of the best backcourts in Texas and if the two continue to play well, don’t be surprised if they make a deep run in the playoffs and end up going to state.
ESD Freshman Hutchinson making a name for himself
The Texas class of 2022 is a very talented freshman class with multiple prospects that have a chance to become nationally ranked. One kid that hasn’t been getting a lot of recognitioN is Spencer Hutchinson of ESD High School. Hutchinson’s size, athleticism, and skill for position is very enticing for a player so young. Against Houston Christian, Hutchinson was getting to the rack well off the bounce and making good decisions with the ball in his hands. The Prep Hoops Texas Staff can’t wait to see what the future holds for this young and talented wing.
Fort Worth Nolan Catholic is Tough
The Nolan Catholic Vikings are a TAPPS 6A Texas private school team that isn’t scared to compete against public school teams. On Saturday, I witnessed the talented Vikings defeat a talented 4A public school team in Spring Hill (mentioned in the beginning). Nolan Catholic has multiple future college players on their team. Jayden Williams, Austin Poling and Le’Jon Doss have all signed NLI’s to play college basketball. The Vikings are battle tested and ready to compete for TAPPS 6A state championship.
