Week 10 Rankings Update
With the rankings being updated later than usual last week, there were far fewer games played between weekly updates this time around. Nonetheless, there was some significant movement in a few of the classes, detailed below.
Class 4A
-North Scott (16-0) holds strong at the top, and are now the only undefeated team remaining in 4A following Waukee’s (15-1) loss to Linn-Mar on Saturday. The Warriors, who suffered their first defeat following the loss of star guard Noah Hart, fell to #4.
-The MAC now has the top two teams in the class, with Bettendorf (15-1) moving up to #2. Dubuque Senior (12-2) also moves up a spot to #3 following Waukee’s loss.
-West Des Moines Valley (14-3) and Iowa City West (12-3) switch places this week following the Trojans’ loss to Whitney Young (IL). Whitney Young is traditionally one of the best teams in Chicago, and this year is no exception, so West isn’t penalized too badly for that defeat.
-Cedar Rapids Prairie (12-3) enters the rankings at #10. The Hawks had been ranked earlier this year and are back now, riding a five-game winning streak.

Class 3A
-The top six teams in the class remain the same, despite #6 Carroll (13-3) dropping a game to Boone.
-The biggest riser is Spencer (13-5), as the Tigers move up three spots to #7 this week.
-Two newcomers enter the rankings, with LeMars (10-8) and West Delaware (13-4) coming in at #9 and #10, respectively. Oskaloosa, who is playing without star forward Cole Henry (broken hand), finally falls out of the rankings this week.

Class 2A
-All ten teams that were ranked last week remain in the poll, but in a slightly different order. The top four – North Linn (17-0), West Sioux (18-0), South Hamilton (17-1) and Boyden-Hull (18-0) – remain in tact.
-Pella Christian (11-6) is the biggest mover of any team, in any class, this week. The Eagles comfortably beat then-#5 Van Meter, 53-38, and moved from #9 to #5 as a result. Playing in the 3A/4A Little Hawkeye Conference taints their record a bit, but this group is getting hot at the right time and is as dangerous as any team in the class.
-Van Meter (16-1) falls from #5 to #9 following their loss to Pella Christian.
