Rahsaan Edwards | 5’11 | St. Maria Goretti
Edwards isn’t only one of the top unsigned seniors at the moment, he is one top point guards in this area as a whole. His game translates well to the next level with his ability to facilitate a system, knock down three’s and be a vocal presence every second that he’s on the floor. Goretti boasts a 22-5 record with a number of Division I prospects, but Edwards is arguably the most important piece because of all that he does for everything to flow. Low Division I and Division II programs should be all over Edwards.
Anthony Carpenter | 5’11 | Gerstell
Carpenter has been an intriguing prospect for Division II and Division III programs. The 5-foot-11 guard can score it in a variety of ways. He plays with effort and toughness that will translate well for a rotational player in his projected level. He struggles with a lack of athleticism, but makes up for it by doing the intangibles like diving on the floor and taking charges. It is assumed that he’ll have to play point guard at the next level, but programs with the flexibility of playing smaller could benefit from him playing more as a combo option.
Miles Mallory | 6’6 | St. Vincent Pallotti
Mallory could be an instant impact player for a good Division III program. He has garnered some interest from Division II, but I feel Division III is where he could make the most impact. The 6-foot-6 forward has long limbs and plays with a great motor. He plays with good basketball IQ, finishes nicely around the rim and crashes the glass aggressively.
Eddie Scott | 6’2 | Annapolis Area
Scott is a scoring guard who could slide in as a scorer in the rotation for a Division III program. There are a few Division II schools that have reached out, but Scott would find success quickly at the Division III level. He has ability to make tough shots. As he learns the game, he should begin picking and choosing his spots better. At 6-foot-2, Scott has a good build and when dialed in, can be a solid on-ball defender.
Aaron Celcis | 6’6 | Annapolis Area
Celcis is the big man presence for Annapolis Area. Even though he has some versatility to his game, he fills the role as the anchor for a senior-heavy Eagles squad. In my opinion, Celcis is a Division III player. He still has to develop his all-around game, but has the body and raw skill set to be a productive four man. On his team this year, Celcis doesn’t get a ton of looks, but has spurts where he finishes nicely around the basket and fills lanes well in transition.
