This week marked the first week of postseason play in high school basketball, and for the entire week, I was bouncing from one district tournament to another.
While I was at one postseason game, I had to keep my ears open and smartphone in hand, for the final scores of games that took place in different gymnasiums.
This week’s list features 12 players who have had monster performances in the postseason so far. This list also features the All-Tournament team from the Division II-A West Region Tournament at Lausanne Collegiate School.
District play isn’t over just yet. The District 15-AAA Championship will be decided on Feb. 20 between Houston and Southwind. The District 14-AAA Championship will be decided on Feb. 19 between Bartlett and Bolton.
I will be attending both of those games, and I’m pretty sure I will come away from both games with a handful of players who will make next week’s list.
Anyways, check out this week’s top players of the week (postseason edition):
Chandler Lawson, Wooddale: The Oregon commit had 10 points, 13 rebounds, four blocks, and two steals in the Cardinals’ 72-53 win over Mitchell in the semifinals round of the District 16-AA Tournament.
Johnathan Lawson, Wooddale: Lawson had 15 points and six steals against the Tigers.
Kevin Brown, Wooddale: The 5-foot-4 point guard had 21 points and four steals against Mitchell.
Alvin Miles, Wooddale: The Whitehaven High School transfer had 13 points against the Tigers.
James Wiseman, Memphis East: The Memphis commit recorded 32 points in a loss to Whitehaven in the District 16-AAA Championship game.

Calvin Temple, Center Hill: Temple had 15 points in the Mustangs’ 49-48 win over Olive Branch in the 5A District Championship game.
Kaeden Laws, Center Hill: The sophomore forward had 16 points against the ‘Quistors. Laws’ most important score came with 0.3 seconds left, when his 3 gave the Mustangs the win.
Andrew Anderson, Tipton-Rosemark Academy: The sophomore forward was named MVP after the Rebels defeated Northpoint Christian to capture the school’s first-ever Division II-A West Region Championship in basketball. Anderson’s best performance was a 25-point outing against Lausanne in the second round.
