The Week Ahead: 2/11-2/16
We’ve reached the last week of the regular season! The rest of the district pairings should be known by the end of the week if not sooner and postseason gets underway next Monday. Here’s a look at the biggest games of the week ahead!
Monday, February 11
- Waggener looks to improve on the best record in the 7th region when they travel to Doss.
- Freshman Jordan Akal goes head to head with star 8th grader Reed Sheppard when North Laurel makes the trip to Harlan.
- Really good match-up as JJ Ramey and South Laurel travel to face Isaiah Cozart and Madison Central.
Tuesday, February 12
- Breckinridge County star Kobe Poole and the Tigers welcome in Lipscomb bound Jacob Hobbs and Central Hardin in what could be a really fun game.
- Pulaski County makes the trip to the 13th region to take on Corbin.
- Frederick Douglass heads to the 10th region to go up against Jordan Graham and George Rogers Clark.
- Mr. Basketball candidates go head to head when David Johnson and Trinity take on Kyle Rode and LCA.
- Potential 8th region tournament preview with Walton-Verona traveling to South Oldham.
Wednesday, February 13
- Nice game in Louisville as Eastern goes to Central. Jacob Robinson against Devin Perry is a tough point guard match-up.
- Scott County is closing in on an undefeated regular season against in-state teams. They host Covington Holy Cross Wednesday.
Thursday, February 14
- Potential 7th region tournament game as Trinity makes the drive to Central to take on the Jackets.
- Really good one in Winchester when Henry Clay makes the short drive to Cardinal Arena to take on GRC.
- Fun game in Western Kentucky as McCracken County and Hopkinsville go toe-to-toe in what could be a high scoring affair.
Friday, February 15
- Franklin County travels to Lawrenceburg to play Anderson County. Tyler Rice going against Kyle Stivers could be a good guard match to watch.
- Madison Central makes the trip to northern Kentucky to play Covington Catholic. Cozart versus Nick Thelen will be a physical match-up in the post.
- Bowling Green travels to Hopkinsville for one last test before the postseason starts.
- Good game on tap in the central Kentucky as LaRue County plays Warren Central in Bowling Green. Anthony Adkins and Jeremiah Belton going up against Kobe Brents and Dre Boyd will be worth the cost of admission.
Saturday, February 16
- Thomas Nelson looks for one final regular season test when they head to Frankfort.
- Most teams are spending their weekend preparing for the postseason.
