The Final 4 for the DII-AA Boys State Tournament is set for Nashville
The final four for this season’s Division II-AA Boys State Tournament is set for next week.
Baylor rolls past Christian Brothers
Baylor defeated Christian Brothers 65-51 Saturday afternoon. Senior point guard Beyuan Hendricks led the Red Raiders with 20 points. Forward Nick Kurtz had 17 points and went a perfect 8-for-8 from the field. Senior shooting guard Blake Pruitt provided 11 points off the bench.
Baylor (22-5) made eight 3s in the game, and its defense forced the Purple Wave into some uncomfortable shots. Freshman point guard Chandler Jackson led Christian Brothers with 21 points. The Purple Wave finish the 2018 season with a record of 20-9.
The Red Raiders will play Brentwood Academy, which defeated MUS by the final score of 42-36.
Briarcrest easily defeats MBA
Briarcrest (27-2) rolls past Montgomery Bell Academy by the final score of 70-36. The Saints had three players to score in double figures. Junior forward Marcellus Brigham led the way with 24 points. Sophomore point guard Kennedy Chandler had 20, and junior wing Michael Malone added 14. Sophomore forward Will Montana led the Big Red (11-17) with 15 points.
Briarcrest will face Ensworth, which defeated McCallie by the final score of 56-42.
Both matchups will take place next Thursday in Nashville, Tennessee at Lipscomb University-Allen Arena. The championship game will take place next Saturday.
