Teams To Watch For:
Thomas Worthington (15-7): The Cardinals are a younger team with big time sophomore players Jalen Sullinger & Isaac Settles. But, Thomas Worthington also have Ohio signee Ben Wight on their side. The big guy is a matchup problem for just about anyone on any given night. A solid season maybe passing some expectations, and a very improved team. They will be heading into the tourney hungry, so look for them to give anyone a battle. If Sullinger or Settles tees up for a big game, it could be a bad night for the opponent.
Delaware Hayes (17-6): The Pacers are a team that can make it tough on you in a variety of ways. Hayes executes the halfcourt well, led by Junior Nate Griggs. A big time Senior presence in Terin Kinsway, who is a force inside and in the mid-range game. Delaware takes pride in on-ball defense, all five guys are always tough on their man. Hayes opened the postseason with a one-point win over Westerville Central, that they will look to improve on. When playing their game, with the ball moving, Hayes is a real tough team to beat this year.
Olentangy Orange (15-7): Olentangy Orange was a well balanced team that I watched in the regular season. Able to finish second in their conference behind a stud Olentangy Liberty team. Bryson Lane has been a big time player for Orange, and they will need that to continue. Secondary contributors Luke Ballinger and Andre Irvin will also need to continue solid play for any kind of run. With a regular season win over Olentangy Liberty to prove their certainly capable of playing at a high level. A solid brand of basketball on both sides of the court, the Pioneers could very well upset a team if the chance arises.
Columbus Northland (15-6): Northland was once again tough this season in the City Leagye-North. Senior guard N’Keeley Elmore was a big reason why. One of my favorite players in the area, tough as nails. Northland plays some physical ball, that should do numbers for them in the postseason. After falling short in the City League Championship, the Vikings may have a chip on their shoulder. Athleticism and toughness is a strength for Northland as well, that will be a task for anyone they face. With their first game against a tough Olentangy squad, the team in green will have to come ready to play, as always.
