The combo guard is starting for one of the most prestigious programs in the state in his first year. He is a long and wiry guard that gets anywhere he wants on the floor. Tremendous speed in transition pushing end to end. He scores coast to coast takes blowing past defenders. Capable shooter from three. Potential to be an elite perimeter defender. Continues to make improvements as a passer.
Drane chatted with PHI about his freshman season.
“It is going good. It is going the way it is supposed to go. I am learning a lot of things.”
He is starting as a freshman at a historic program. How much is that going to help his long term development?
“It is going to help me a lot because I am building of Kejuan (Clements) and the rest of the seniors. They tell me to not be nervous so I listen to them because they have been there before.”
Although his recruitment hasn’t really got rolling yet there is no doubt that he will be a coveted recruit down the line. What can he bring to a team at the next level?
“I get my team involved. Scoring and passing. I can give college coaches what they need.”
