He played on the varsity last year as a sophomore, but this year he is emerging as one of their leaders. So far this season Brown (2020) is averaging 13 points per game along with 4 rebounds and 4 assists. At 6’0″ 140 lbs Brown (2020) has good speed and quickness. Brown (2020) is a good ball handler and has excellent court vision. He also has a good shot from outside and is able to use his speed and quickness to get to the rim. His speed and quickness also help make him a good defender able to pressure opposing teams guards and create turnovers. This year Brown (2020) and his teammates are hoping to make it to the state tournament.
When asked about his strengths he said, “I believe my strengths are my jump shot, ball handling, and I always try to push my teammates and be a good leader.” Like any good athlete Brown is always trying to improve himself. “I’m trying to improve on my passing and staying aggressive the whole game and trying to make my team better.”
During the spring and summer Brown (2020) plays for Cache Valley Elite, one of the areas top grassroots teams. “I’ve only played with them for one year. It was a great experience playing with a new team against great competition. It helped me develop at a faster pace and getting used to the physicality.”
Basketball has always been a part of Brown’s life. “I have played basketball my whole life and always loved it.” Playing for Pocatello High School has also always been a family tradition. “My dad and uncles and brother all played at Poky and I wanted to follow.” It is that family connection that has helped create fond memories of basketball, “There are so many memories that I love but something that stands out is playing dunkball outside with my brother and uncles every week.”
Brown (2020) hopes to play college basketball, “I would love to play college basketball as of right now I am not being recruited by anyone.” He does have multiple offers to attend some camps this summer so hopefully that will help start the recruitment.
