Prospect Spotlight: Camron McDowell (2021)
Already with two high-major Division I offers to his name, Lincoln Academy sophomore Camron McDowell is emerging as one of Georgia’s top guards.
At 6-foot-5, McDowell has the size that piques college coaches’ interest. And he’s got the playmaking ability, too.
“I’m a playmaker and I like to get my teammates involved,” said McDowell. “I’d say passing is my best strength, and I need to improve on my ball-handling.”
At one of Georgia’s premier programs, Lincoln Academy, McDowell has been playing the sixth-man role as sophomore.
“My role on the team is to be a playmaker, score and play defense. The season is going well, everyday we’re practicing harder and trying to get better, that’s what we do,” said McDowell.
“The team goals are to win at state, and hopefully make it all the way.”
This spring and summer could be a major one for the big and talented guard. He says he’ll probably be playing with AOT 16U.
Currently, McDowell reports offers from offers from Virginia Tech and Xavier. He reports interest from Georgia, Georgia Tech, UMass, Georgia State, Florida State and Virginia.
“My personal goals are to just get better, get as many offers as I can, and find the right school for me,” said McDowell. “I just want to become a better player, a smarter player, and get ready for college.”
