Prospect Spotlight: Bridger Hansen (2020)
Bridger Hansen (2020) started playing on the varsity at Butte County when he was a freshman. Each year he has been working to get better and help his team be successful. Last year as a sophomore he averaged 13.5 points a game. This year as a junior and the main offensive weapon for the Pirates he is averaging 16.6 points per game.
At 5’10” and 165 lbs Hansen (2020) is a very good ball handler who is able to see the court well and distribute the ball to open teammates. His strength and quickness enable him to get to the basket and finish through contact. One of his other strengths is his outside shot. Hansen (2020) is a very good 3 point shooter. He is also good at using his outside shot to allow him to attack the basket as defenders rush out to contest his 3 point shot. His favorite memory of basketball is “scoring 41 points against Kemmerer Wyoming and getting the win.”
Hansen (2020) enjoys playing basketball for a couple of reasons, “I like playing basketball because the adrenaline of a really close game, and being with my team.” He understands there is always something you can improve on, “I am trying to improve my ball handling, a better mid range jump shot, and be more scrappy on defense.”
On the defensive side of the ball Hansen (2020) has good lateral speed and is able to pressure opposing guards into making mistakes.
Playing basketball after high school is something Hansen (2020) hopes to do, “I would love to play in college.”
