He is an athletic wing that can score from his jump shot, by attacking the basket and can also finish above the rim. He brings good versatility to the court which allows him to guard multiple positions and also alter shots. I had him down tallying 13 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks last night.
On what it means to win this game, ““It feels really good to get this win, I feel like when we played them last time here, we did not do everything we wanted to do, we did not do enough to win and overall it just was not a good effort so today we made sure we put the effort and work in and played hard to get the win.”
Episcopal will now get a chance to knock off the number 1 seed St. Stephens & St. Agnes in the IAC finals on Saturday night.
“We are locked in and ready because they have beaten us three times year and we have not beat them yet and we know every time we play them it has not been good but we are a different team right now and we know that they don’t know what is coming at them.”
When asked how Chenery would describe his game, he said, “ “I am just a scoring wing and I feel like I can guard 1-5 and just attack and get my shot going.”
The junior still has his last AAU season and senior high school season ahead of him but when asked about which schools stand out, he mentioned, “Rhode Island, Columbia and Towson.”
He broke down all three of those schools for us.
Rhode Island: “They like how I can shoot at the wing position, they like how I can defend a lot of guards and forwards too and they just like my versatility.”
Columbia: “They are good, they offered me in the summer and they recently just got a new coach a few years back and he came in and visited me, gave me his pitch and they really love me”
Towson: “They love me a lot, they are the ones that text and call me all the the time and always wants me to come down and come to see them play. Coach loves me, they came down a few weeks ago and saw me play but yea they really love me and want me a lot.”
