The hard-nosed 6-foot, 175-pound combo guard made a mark in all phases of the game, not only with scoring the ball, but with passing, rebounding, and defense as well. The senior has earned the interest of some college programs this season as he hopes to finish out the year on a strong note.
“We had one day between to forget about that loss and had to come out tonight and play harder as a team,” Remburg said. “Our game plan is always on defense and keeping teams from scoring is how we win games. As a team we play so well together – we just play as one team.”
Remsburg showed off some great all-around play. His focus offensively was taking the ball strong to the hoop where he either looked for his own offense or dishing it off to teammates for buckets. He’s physically well built which allows him to absorb contact and still finish – and it’s something he takes advantage of. Remsburg missed the first half of the season due to a broken finger but he’s recovered well for the Pioneers.
“I think my senior season has gone great,” Remsburg said. “I’ve been going strong to the hoop and my rebounding has gotten a lot better this year than it was last year.”
College programs have been watching his progress. Corban head coach Mitch Freeman was on hand to take in the action and Remsburg’s parents are alumni of the school. Pacific Lutheran has also been recruiting Remsburg since last season. He’s appreciative of the interest and is keeping all options open at this point.
“I want to play in college so I’m looking forward to it but I’ve got to keep working hard to get where I want to be,” Remsburg said. “I’m staying open to anybody that wants to look at me.”
With recruiting on the backburner, Remsburg is hoping to finish the season strong as Oregon City chases their goal of making it to the Chiles Center. “I think we’ve got to keep locked in to our game and play as a team,” Remsburg said. “Guys got to keep on stepping up, make big plays, and we’ll win games. I think we’ll be in the state tournament.”
Remsburg currently ranks as the #84 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2019 rankings.
