ProVision won convincingly 46-73 and was led by their January transfers Mykell Robinson and Gerald Doakes. Below is a breakdown of their performances:
Mykell Robinson / 6’7″ / PF / ProVision Academy / 2019
The move to Pro-Vision looked to be a comfortable one for Robinson because he has been graced with the privilege of doing more within the offense. He simply took over the game while showing the ability to handle the ball in the open floor, knock down the three, and make the right pass. He did a lot of damage inside, looking to get to rim each time he saw an opening. Robinson will be taking his talents to Denver in the fall and showed that he is more than capable of being effective at either of the forward spots. The senior forward scored a game-high 27 points and earned all-tournament team honors for his efforts.
Gerald Doakes / 6’2″ / SG / ProVision Academy / 2021
Doakes displayed the elite two-foot bounce and athleticism in which he is known for. The wiry guard used high hesi-dribbles to get by defenders and exploded to the basket for nice finishes. His jumper was not falling and his shot selection is still questionable; however, the defense could not do anything with him when he looked to attack. The quick-leaping sophomore added 15 points in the win. He also earned all-tournament team honors for his Saturday night efforts. Look for the newly-reclassed Doakes to build off of this momentum heading into the spring/summer. He will run on the NIKE EYBL 16U Circuit with We All Can Go.
