Prep Hoops OCC-Capital All-Conference Team:
Brady Snyder (6’1 / G 2019 / Canal Winchester): Brady Snyder was a big reason why Canal Winchester had an as successful season as they did. A player that division-three programs should be all over. The 6’1 guard led the conference in scoring at just under 19 points per game. One of the most hardworking players you will find, and it’s paid off in his last go around. Snyder had eight games of 20 or more points, leading Canal Winchester night in and night out. A well deserved accolade for Brady.
Bilal Sow (6’4 / F 2019 / Canal Winchester): A solid inside presence for the very good Canal Winchester team is Bilal Sow. The 6’4 physical Sow was a workhorse for the Indians all year. A beast to deal with on the boards, and athletic enough to move around inside with nice footwork. The Junior guard should have a huge Senior year, and his Junior year showed glimpses of that. Putting in 18.5 points a night, Sow and Snyder led the way for Canal often. The big man had 11 games of 20 or more points, showcasing a dominant scoring ability much of the time. One of the better players in the OCC-Capital.
Jayden Lewis (6’1 / G 2020 / New Albany): A player that is under-the-radar majority of the time is Jayden Lewis. Playing for a New Albany team on a down year, Lewis was impressive nonetheless. A solid scoring guard that was able to put up 15.2 points a game for New Albany. The Junior found himself in double-digit points all but four games. Consistent for New Albany and a big part of their seven wins they was able to reach on a down year. Jayden Lewis is a player that can fill it up at times, and should have an even better Senior season. A deserving selection in the OCC-Capital.
Kegan Hienton (6’4 / W 2020 / Big Walnut): Big Walnut showed improvement this season, from past years when they’ve been down a bit. Kegan Hienton was a big part of that. The Junior averaged almost 15 points a night for the Big Walnut squad. Leading them in scoring, the 6’4 wing found himself having a big game often. With five games over 20 points, Kegan put on a show often. A top-five leading scorer in the league, that can affect the game in different ways. A deserving pick for this all-conference team!
Keshawn Heard (6’7 / F 2019 / Newark): Newark had another dominant season this year, as they often do. Winning the conference, that was a bit tougher this year. A big reason they were able to garner that accolade was Keshawn Heard. The big man was a force for the Wildcats. Going for 13.2 points per game, and a rebounding machine. A long build that affects the defensive side of the court as well. Also, scoring in double-figures in 16 games, Heard was a dominant force for the first-place Wildcats.
