Prep Hoop CCL-South Team:
Von Cameron-Davis (6’5 / F 2020 / Walnut Ridge): Von Cameron-Davis is one of the best Junior prospects in Ohio. A monster season is exactly what he tallied. Hitting his 1,000th point as a third year player was a nice reward for the hardworking Davis. A back to the basket style player much of the time, took care of business inside. Putting up about 27.6 points a game, one of Central Ohio’s top scorers. The Scots big man put up two 40+ point games this season. Also, seven games of 30 or more points. The conference’s best player, is a force to be wrecking with.
Treohn Watkins (5’11 / G 2019 / South): Columbus South is once again a division-two power with just one loss. A big reason for that is the play of lead guard Treohn Watkins. The 5’11 guard led the first place Bulldogs in scoring at just over 14 points per contest. Watkins showed that killer mentality you want in a guard all season long. With 14 games in double-digit scoring territory, the Senior flashed big time scoring consistency. Columbus South’s alpha is very deserving of the accolades he receives this season.
Tronny Keaton (6’0 / G 2019 / Marion-Franklin): Marion Franklin had a down year, but Tronny Keaton was once again impressive for them. The conference’s second leading scorer was able to put up 21.4 points a night. One of the better, pure scorers in the conference, Keaton gets it done. At a smaller 6’0 frame, the Senior can create space and shoot it with the best of them. A season-high 35 points in a whopping of Cristo Rey was the performance of the season for Tronny. A player that sometimes floats under the radar, puts up the numbers with the best of them.
Cali Davis (6’2 / G 2020 / Africentric): Africentric rebounded decently after losing big time Senior contributors last season. Junior Cali Davis is a big reason why. Davis netted 17 points per game for the Nubians, to lead the way. An athletic guard who can get it done in a variety of ways. The 6’2 anchor found himself over the 20 point mark on six different occasions this season. It’ll be interesting to see what his Senior year has in store for him, but a successful Junior year it was!
Ben James (6’5 / WF 2019 / Independence): Ben James is another one of those big-bodied players that looks like he should be on gridiron. But, James is a standout player on the Hardwood for Independence. At 6’5 James has a strong frame, that can score inside and crash boards. Also, an impressive shot that you wouldn’t think he would obtain. The Senior was one of the best scorers in the South division at 16.9 points per game. However, the 6’5 forward found himself above the 30 point mark on three different occasions. Flashing the big time scoring ability. A deserving player for Prep Hoops All-Conference Team.
