Darian Gibson 6’4 SG / Spring Woods / 2019
Played with a great motor the entire game. He was slashing the lanes. Creating space for himself. Moving great without the ball in his hands. He finished well with both hands in the paint using floaters. Shot the ball very well in the game. He also showed his vision by threading a couple of passes to his teammates to get easy back door layups. Finished the game with 19 points and 3 assist. He shot 5/5-2FG, 2/5-3FG, and 3/4-FT. He has interest from a couple of D2 schools.
Thomas Hilliard 6’3 F / Spring Woods / 2019
Played solid and with a good motor. Scrappy player who has good strength for his size. He was boxing out in the game. Setting solid picks also. He scored 8 points in the fourth quarter, as he hit back-to-back trey balls from the same exact corner. Finished the game with 12 points, and 6 rebounds. He shot 3/5-2FG and 2/3-3FG.
Jesse Zarzuela 6’3 PG / Spring Woods / 2019 [UTEP] PHTX100
Jesse played through the adversity of being boxed in one. He was also doubled team every time he touched the ball. When your the only D1 signee on the floor it’s bound to happen in the playoff atmosphere. He didn’t shot the ball that well in the game. In the second half he was splitting defenders and started to get his teammates going. The fourth quarter was his best quarter of the game. Despite the opposition his motor was still high until the final buzzer sounded. Finished with 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assist in the game. He shot 3/7-2FG, 1/8-3FG, and 2/2-FT.
Nico Hardin 6’7 PF / Spring Woods / 2019
He didn’t have a big offensive output as in scoring the ball. He did everything else though. He was cleaning the glass all night long on both ends of the floor. Ran the lanes well throughout the game. He was alter shots and also blocking them. One blocked shot he pinned on the glass. Displayed great floor vision as in finding his teammates when catching the ball in the high post and short corner. Active hands defensively and was vocal from start to finish. Finished with 1 point, 13 rebounds, 5 assist, 4 blocks, and 2 steals. He has three D3 offers and 1 JuCo offer.
PJ Neal 6’2 PG / Houston Heights / 2021 PHTX50
Physical guard with a quick crossover. Uses his body well when attacking the rim. Has good floor vision on both sides of the ball. He was active on the glass. He can create for himself and his teammates. He is still coming into his own as you can see the growth over the season. His jump shot has gotten way better. Next season I expect him to explode and have a big junior year. Finished the game with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assist. He shot 3/7-2FG, 2/6-3FG, and 1/1-FT.
Ulysses Treado 6’2 G / Houston Heights / 2019
Defensively anchored guard who plays very scrappy and very aggressive on defense. He was jumping the passing lanes and tipped a lot of balls out of bounds. Active hands on defense. He also has a good bounce to his game. He tried to put his defender in the rim twice. Thrives offensively from a wing position by putting the ball on the floor and driving. Finished with 10 points and 3 rebounds. He shot 3/9-2FG, 1/3-3FG, and 1/2-FT.
