Terry Sanford Guard Jay Hickman: One of the top performers for his team on the night with 13 Points , he knows how to use his height and wingspan to make plays. This season he has been given more of a leadership and responsibility role so it has been interesting to see him grow.
Grays Creek Forward Tyler Strickland: He still is raw but has some potential in him , if he continues to work we can see him as a player that smaller colleges like. Has good size at 6’6 , and seems to be a pretty coachable player , how hard he works in the offseason will determine how good of a player he ends up being.
Terry Sanford Wing Yates Johnson: We like that he isn’t bothered by any type of physical contact that he faces . He played through contact pretty much all game and stayed aggressive even when he didn’t get the calls. Can rebound the ball at a decent rate and defends multiple positions, which makes him a player that you love to have on your squad.
Terry Sanford Junior Forward Kyron Kelly: In only his first year of playing varsity basketball , he has made nice progress. He seems to be more comfortable on the court and on occasion made some post moves with his back to the basket. Blocking shots , rebounding and scoring in the paint are all things that he does well.
Westover HS Junior Guard Isaiah Bridges: He’s new to the area as he transferred in from Chicago prior to the season but he has plenty of upside to him. He’s one of the stronger guards in the area , so playing through physical contact is not much of an issue for him at all. IQ wise he’s advanced , he sees plays before they happen and doesn’t turn the ball over too often. He still seems to be getting comfortable with his new school and new system he’s in but he is a college prospect for sure.
EE Smith HS Junior Forward Jaylen Siermons: Didn’t have his best showing on this occasion but has put up some very nice numbers over the season . When he’s locked in he has a chance to be a 20 & 10 type of performer , he’s athletic , strong and can shoot the jumpshot from midrange.
Westover HS Junior Forward Traymond Willis-Shaw: The potential he has as a D1 prospect is clear , he shows flashes of it at times but we are looking to see him bring it on a consistent basis. He can knock down the deep ball , make plays above the rim and block shots at a high rate . At about 6’7 with a long wingspan , it doesn’t take much for him to catch your attention.
