Rondel Walker 2020 Putnam City West
Walker put on a performance that will be remembered around the city for years to come. The junior wing scored 48 points and willed his team to an exciting comeback against Midwest City. Although his team fell short, many will not remember the result but they will remember the classic showing by Walker.
It was incredible to see a player do literally whatever it took on the offensive end of the floor to get his team a basket.
Ethan Scott 2022 Westmoore
The freshmen sensation has been lighting it up at the 6A level all year long. This past week, Scott broke Westmoore’s single season record for three pointers as a rookie. He hit six of them in his last game to snap the record.
Scott has broken numerous records this year for the Jaguars and it has impressive to see him navigate 6A with no problem. Many believe that Scott’s name will be plastered all over Westmoore’s record book once he hangs it up in 2022.
JD Ray 2019 Midwest City
Ray has been on this list numerous times this year due to his stellar senior year at MWC. It was no different on Saturday night as the speedy lefty carved up the Putnam City West defense scoring 28 points and he led his team to a Regional Championship.
As usual, Ray had all the answers for their defense and he was impressive with his ability to finish around the basket in traffic. His blazing speed was evident and it looked like he was playing on a different Game Setting than everybody else.
Trey Alexander 2021 Heritage Hall
Oklahoma is loaded with young up and coming players who have a lot of talent and with time they will shine once they have fully developed. However, Trey Alexander is developing and dominating at the same time. The phenom just scored 1000 points in his career as a sophomore.
Take a moment to think about how much talent it takes to pull that off. Alexander is rewriting a lot of old standards and expectations for young players coming into high school basketball.
Ben Emmert 2020 Norman
Emmert is good 2020 prospect who is filling it up for an underrated Norman Tigers. Emmert scored 27 points and Norman made #1 ranked Edmond Memorial sweat it out with them until the end.
Emmert is a smooth lefty who can shoot the ball from three but can also get around the rim and cause problems. Norman is one of the teams to look out for this postseason because they could pull off an upset led by a player the caliber of Emmert.
