Oklahoma Player of the Week 2/18
This past week was filled with great games and talent from all across the state. This time of year provides a great opportunity for great players to rise to the occasion. Here are your nominees for Oklahoma Player of the Week:
JD Ray 2019 Midwest City
No one had a better week than the senior point guard from MWC. Ray scored 53 points against Enid this past week as he led the the Bombers to a 107-56 victory. Ray’s jumper has continued to get better as he hit 14 three pointers on Senior Night.
Ray is a talented lefty who is a pass-first point guard but he is a skilled offensive player who can score whenever he feels like its time.
As you can see Ray has all the tools to be a dominant scorer when called upon. Ray has put together a great senior season and this is just one of the many highlights this year.
Kevin Wilson 2019 Duncan
Wilson is a skilled offensive forward who has a good feel for angles and creating space in the mid-post. This past week in two games, he put up some monster numbers including 33.5 points and 5.3 rebounds on average.
Wilson has shown the ability to consistently get buckets in an efficient way.
This prospect has all the tools to continue to put up great numbers as he stands at 6’3 and he is a tough matchup for smaller guards and bigger post players.
Reid Lovelace 2022 Crossings Christian
This freshmen has been one of the top newcomers of the 2018-19 season so far due to his shooting ability and his crafty playmaking. Coming into high school and playing well is not an easy task so to see this freshmen have so much success this season is impressive.
Lovelace scored 24 points and added 6 assists and 4 steals in a big comeback victory at home against Riverside. Crossings Christian is moving on in part because of Lovelace’s performance.
Jack VanDaley 2020 Warner
VanDaley is filling up the box score for Warner this year and last week was no different. The junior guard put up 34 points 4 rebounds and 6 assists.
He then followed that up with a 41 point 4 steals and 5 assists performance that ended with a game-winning shot from basically the other team’s three point line.
VanDaley has been a stud this year and is a 2020 prospect to keep your eye on during this postseason.
Moun’Tae Edmundson Jr 2019 Centennial
Edmundson could almost be nominated for Player of the Week every nomination due to the crazy stats he has put up in his senior season. The smaller point guard has put together big performances one after the other on a consistent basis.
Edmundson finished with 31 points 9 rebounds and 6 steals in a playoff victory over Chandler. Centennial has had a solid season so far and this senior point guard has been the leader that they need.
Edmundson is the type of player who could cause some upsets this upcoming postseason.
