SG Myles Baker (Whitney Young – 2019)
Baker is one of the top uncommitted prospects in the state of Illinois. The smooth two guard has had a solid senior season and updated us on the latest saying, “I am just taking my time. Toledo, UAB, Northern Illinois, and Central Connecticut are heavy right now.” He hasn’t taken any official visits at this time. He doesn’t have a timeline for a decision, but he wants to take some visits before making a call most likely after the season.
PG Larry Hemmingway (Springfield Lanphier – 2019)
This angular point guard had the game of his career on Friday night dropping 35 points nailing three after three. He told us after that there are some JUCOs on him. “Kansas City Community College, Ohio Valley, and Lincoln Land are recruiting me.”
SF Donovan Clay (Alton – 2019)
Clay is a 6’6” small forward with length and athleticism along with the ability to shoot from three. When we talked with him on Friday night after their game he mentioned quite a few JUCO programs that were heavy on him. Then out of nowhere on Saturday night he was offered and committed to Valparaiso. There is still some thoughts that he could end up at a JUCO next season.
SF Keenan Jones (Whitney Young – 2019)
Jones is a versatile forward that can play both the three and small ball four at the next level. We spoke with him about his recruitment and he told us, “I have Maryville and Lewis talking to me. Couple D3’s and JUCO’s.” Wabash Valley is a junior college making a run at him.
SG Malik Smith (Alton – 2019)
Smith is a scoring two guard that can get buckets at multiple levels. When it comes to the latest with his recruitment he said, “I have talked to a few schools. I have an offer from Rend Lake. I talked to Lake Land and Parkland.” He plans on visiting all three.
PG Lawrence Brazil (Belleville West – 2019)
Brazil continues to see his stock rise as a senior with his outstanding play. His recruitment is picking up too! “Quincy is starting to talk to me more. Drury is supposed to be talking to me soon. Illinois-Springfield has been talking to me more lately. Millikin has been on me pretty heavy. I will be looking at committing and seeing what my options are after March.”
