Here are the teams that had particularly good weeks
Thompson
The Tommies have rebounded from their upset loss to Larimore nicely with several blowout wins in the following two weeks. Thompson earned arguably its best win of the season last Saturday, beating Four Winds/Minnewaukan 72-60, getting 23 points from senior guard Cadyn Schwabe and 12 points and nine rebounds from junior forward Clay Odenbach.
Dunseith
The Dragons are quietly on an eight-game winning streak since an early-season string of losses to some of the state’s elite. Dunseith earned perhaps its best win of the winter Thursday when it went to Roseglen and beat White Shield 53-52. Julius Grant, Treagan Azure and Michael Two Hearts have been catalysts in the Dragons’ success this year. This team looks like a potential state tournament team out of Region 4 (behind Four Winds as the favorite).
Bishop Ryan
Bishop Ryan was another team that struggled through the early part of the season but the Lions are on a tear now and have the look of a team that can win the state title. Ben Bohl, Mason Hedberg and Chinaza Udekwe form a deadly perimeter trio and while the offense has been inconsistent at times, the defense has emerged as one of the best in the state.
