Riverside Brookfield led this one throughout, but Aurora Christian made it tight in the fourth with their perimeter shooting. Riverside Brookfield won it 51-47. Here are the Most Intriguing Prospects: Riverside Brookfield vs Aurora Christian.
PF Andrew Veon (Riverside Brookfield – 2019)
Veon recently committed to Roosevelt where he will be an outstanding player! The 6’6” four man has strength and athletic pop. Early in the game it was all about getting on the offensive glass for put backs. Had four of them in the first half alone. Active on the glass and has an awareness for where it is coming off. Finishes dump off passes. Also has some pick and pop ability hitting a wing three. Finished with 13 points and 7 rebounds.
PG Zach Vaia (Riverside Brookfield – 2019)
Vaia is a crisp ball handler at the lead guard spot. He is excellent getting in the lane where he loves to kick to shooters for open looks. Can shoot it himself too drilling a pair of corner threes with a clean looking shot. Scored 13 points in the win.
SG Patrick Hanley (Riverside Brookfield – 2019)
Hanley was the recipient of many of the drive and kick dimes from Vaia. Lengthy wing that is sound spot up shooter. Connected on three of them for his 9 points. Decent passing feel.
SF Reginald Loury (Riverside Brookfield – 2019)
Loury is a plus athlete on the perimeter at 6’3”. Active wing that is quick to the glass. Explosive burst off the bounce. Went for 4 points.
SG Charles Terry (Riverside Brookfield – 2019)
Terry is a slashing wing that is a strong athlete in the transition game. Scored 4 points.
SF Will Wolfe (Aurora Christian – 2020)
Wolfe is one of the better wing prospects in the junior class. He has strength and size for position at 6’6” with a big time jump shot to go with it. Elite pull up mid-range shooter that loves to stop and pop or drill a one dribble pull up. Range stretches easily to three where he has a smooth three point stroke hitting a pair from deep. Underrated passer in the open floor and finds cutters in the half court. Very skilled and technically sound player. Went for 16 points.
PG Taaj Davis (Aurora Christian – 2020)
Davis is a 6’1” point guard who can shoot it from deep. Hit a pair in this game off the catch. Shot a lot of them though. Flashed his athleticism off the bounce on a spinning layup and a runner where he got it over the post en route to 12 points.
PG Jaehshon Thomas (Aurora Christian – 2021)
Thomas is trending as one of the best sophomore point guards in the state. At 6’2” this 2021 prospect is a crisp passer with tight handles. Gets to the rim in the open floor including one tough spinning layup. Sound mid-range jump shooter that has a fluid one dribble pull up. Also hit a three late. A lot to like here with this lead guard. He had 15 points.
