Dean was able to jump himself into the top 5 of the rankings, which is a pretty rare feat this late in the recruiting process. The reason why is easy; he has an incredibly high ceiling, and I could easily see him excelling at a high level program at the next level. He has everything you could ask for from a 4 at the next level. He is insanely athletic, can handle the ball in a straight line, (and looks to have even added some impressive dribble moves to his repertoire) and can shoot the ball at a high level from 3. The area of his game that can still use some work is his feel, but now that he is focusing more on basketball than he has in the past, I think that is something he can definitely improve on at a rapid rate.
Kalil Thomas 6’3 SG Holy Cross
Thomas was the biggest jumper of anyone in the top 20, going from the late teens to the number 10 spot. His ability to put the ball in the hole is what will jump off the page when you first watch him play, but what impresses me most about him is his ability to affect the game without the ball in his hands. He is one of the better defenders that the state has to offer, and he can really space the floor with his shooting ability.
Rodney Munson 6’1 CG Bonnabel
Munson has taken another step in the right direction when it comes to his development. I expected Bonnabel to take a bit of a step back this season, after the graduation of TJ Collins, and a lot of the Bruins major contributors being younger. However, Munson has stepped in and taken over the role of lead offensive playmaker, and Bonnabel has stayed consistent with the success that they have had over the last couple of seasons.
Elijah Morgan 5’11 PG Jesuit
Morgan was the highest riser of anyone in the state, moving up 14 spots from 44 to 30. What he has been able to do this season at Jesuit is really impressive. He is a really impressive scorer, and has the quickness to get pretty much wherever he wants to on the court. The area of his game that has improved the most this season is his ability to make those around him better. He has gotten much better at setting up his teammates in spots where they will be successful, as well as taking a step forward on the defensive end.
Shadon Green 5’8 G Landry Walker
I have been really impressed with the strides that Green has taken this season for Landry-Walker. He has made himself into a reliable 2nd option for a true contender in 5A, and depending on the night is a first option. He is good enough to beat you by himself, which I didn’t to be able to say at any point this year. Despite his size, he plays much bigger than he is, and can really get a bucket. He is a reliable scorer on all 3 levels, and is one of the best shooters that the state has to offer.
