For game results, check out our upperclassmen recap from last night. Here, we’re getting right to it:
Sencire Harris (2022), 6’4” G, North Canton Hoover
stats: 22 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 blocks, 1 steal
Harris was in a different stratosphere both as an athlete and basketball talent in relation to the other players in their game against Medina Highland. The high-upside freshman guard is profoundly confident and capable of finishing with either hand in traffic. A left-handed shooter, Harris’s contested runners and reverse layups with the right were seamless. Crafty finisher.
Quick coming out of cuts and is able to change directions at an instant. Used his length to block shots and cause problems in their run-and-jump look. Rebounds with verticality. Outside shooting and shot selection are the areas in need of improvement, but both don’t appear to be glaring issues. Lot of room to grow physically. One of the best 2022 Ohioans we’ve covered.
Ramar Pryor (2022), 6’1” G, GlenOak
stats: 6 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 6 steals
Pryor is a game-changing presence on the defensive side of the floor. He turns ball-handlers by beating to them to the spot with freaky quickness. Picked off several passes in their run-and-jump defense.
The athletic guard is a bit of an unknown on offense — he just isn’t asked to make a lot of plays or run the show yet. His blow-by speed is an asset, though. Created separation quickly when he had the ball. Not many guys going to stay in front of him. Unselfish passer. His shooting mechanics appear promising. Excited to get a more complete evaluation on him as time goes on.
Josiah Harris (2022), 6’6” F, GlenOak
stats: 14 points, 9 rebounds
Harris is a versatile forward with major potential and outstanding body language on the court. Rebounded with effort, strong hands, and athleticism. Harris led the break off the defensive glass. Showed a willingness to deliver balls to the up-man or take it himself. A euro-step and a pro hop in traffic impressed me and spoke to his ability to knife through the defense off the dribble. Capable shooter, but he didn’t settle on Saturday. Harris disrupted Louisville’s press-breaker by making his length a factor while guarding the inbounder.
Marcus Aulizia (2021), 6’3″ G, Warren JFK
stats: 6 points, 1 rebound
It wasn’t his most productive night, but we came away intrigued with JFK’s point guard. He has some wiggle off the dribble which he uses to get into the lane. Jumper looks clean coming off of his hands. He will need to start putting more pressure on the defense to take the next step, but we like some of the flashes Aulizia showed.
