Yes Georgia’s own Isaac Okoro out of McEachern High School. Okoro, who has committed to play basketball next year at Auburn University, has had one hell of a senior season and where his squad is sitting at a 27-0 overall record going into the state playoffs.
The 6-foot-7 forward is the first Georgia native to make an appearance in the Nike Hoop Summit event since Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Collin Sexton, who represented Pebblebrook High School out of Mableton, Georgia and Chicago Bulls forward Wendell Carter Jr., who represented Pace Academy out of Atlanta, Georgia back in 2017. Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown also represented the peach state out of Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia back in 2015.
The Nike Hoop Summit is a showcase game between the USA’s best and the World’s best high school players every year in April in Portland, Oregon. This year’s contest is set for April 12th in Portland, Oregon in the Portland Trail Blazer’s arena. It was certainly not a surprise Mr. Okoro made the USA roster this year. Isaac was recenlty selected on the USA U17 national team back in June and where him and his teammates bought home the gold medal during their trip in Argentina in South America.
