Recently moved up to #37 overall in the 2020 class rankings. The long and lanky five man brings a lot of athleticism to their front line. Runs the floor so fluidly and his teammates find him for dunks when he does sprint the length of the court. Gets multiple dunks off just beating everyone down the floor. Plus athlete that should develop into a nice rebounder especially once he adds strength. Shows timing when hitting the glass. Rim protector on the defensive end swatting anything that comes near him. So much upside with face up skill potential that could develop over the next year.
He spoke about his junior year with the Flyers.
“It is going well. At first I was playing bad because I had the jitters, but I ended up being able to start some big games against Belleville West and Vashon. That boosted my confidence.”
Where has he felt his game has shown the most growth?
“My three point shot. Last year I wouldn’t shoot. I shot one three last year. Now coach is letting me shoot in the corner. There is this one play where I shoot it and it has been going in.”
Having veterans like Terrence Hargrove, Richard Robinson, and Elijah Rice to learn from has been valuable for the big man.
“It has been good because we didn’t think there was going to be that many transfers or seniors on the team so to be around them has gotten me better. They aren’t soft on me in practice and being hard on me. Making me better for next year because they said it is going to be my year next year.”
Anything with recruiting at this point?
“Louisiana-Monroe contacted me after the Vashon game, but that is about it.”
Williams is a big man that could explode this spring and summer on the circuit.
