Quarterfinal Results
#3 Episcopal 87 #6 St. Albans 71
#4 Georgetown Prep 54 #5 Landon 51
Too Much DeJean Desire
I went to Georgetown Prep last night to see them play host to Landon. This was a game that Prep led most of the way. Landon did grab the lead for a quick second in the 4th quarter but all along it looked like Prep was going to advance to the next round. Prep was led by 2019 DeJean Desire, who finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Desire brings so much activity around the rim as he was not able to be stopped on the boards and was able to tip in a lot of missed shots to get easy points for Prep. He also showed that he is capable of hitting down a spot up jumper from the elbow area and from three.
Semifinals Are Set
Both of the semifinals will be played tonight and both have a tip off scheduled for 6 pm. The 1 seed St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes plays host to the 4 seed, Georgetown Prep and on the other side of the bracket, the 2 seed Bullis plays host to the 3 seed Episcopal.
What happened in these matchups during the regular season?
St. Stephens & St. Agnes and Georgetown Prep split during the regular season:
1-22-19 SSSA 79 Prep 53
2-8-19 Prep 59 SSSA 56

What to expect?
It is going to be a game-time decision for me on what game I decided to attend to this evening. We fully expect two close and competitive games. The two winners from tonight will face off against each other on Saturday night at the higher seed. Stay tuned to Prep Hoops as we will have full coverage the next few days from the IAC tournament.
